Established in March 2016 this boutique café and coffee bar, located in the heart of Fremantle’s’ coffee strip, opened it’s doors. In 2017 the owners changed the look of the business/brand along with a versatile and vegan friendly menu.
Daily food selections are displayed at the front counter with the aroma of freshly ground coffee drifting though the café. Their coffee and gourmet sandwiches are among their most popular menu items.
The menu consists of a variety of meat and vegan options such as vegan donuts, vegan sausage rolls, falafel sandwich, pulled jackfruit sandwich and a variety of drinks including smoothies and hot drinks.
The service area is fitted out with timber style tiles, industrial style hanging lights and a quirky colour scheme including a cow mural and a “rewards card” wall. There is limited seating inside the building but seating for 20 outside the café.
With the café being situated in one of Fremantles popular coffee strip alleyways it can be easily accessed.
The 3 partners work the business without any additional staff and have built up a solid reputation amongst the locals and repeat tourists to the area. All products are made/baked on sight which gives them a competitive edge over other cafe businesses in the area.
Upon opening the cafe there was an extensive marketing effort involving letter drops, samples/tastings and a free drink and food opening day all of which were used to create local awareness and recognition of the brand.
Most of their advertising at this stage is now through social media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram. This is maintained and managed by a social media manager and updated with new pictures weekly with photo shoots bi-annually.
Popular food review sites (Goodfood.com, the Urbanist and Zomato), word of mouth and well established repeat customer base, contribute to the cafes solid trading.
Repeat customers are offered incentives in the way of a loyalty card (Every 7th coffee free)
The café would suit a hands on owner /operator couple.
